Let’s start with the downside… Kosir’s DOES offer lodging. This was a huge factor for us being able to get up there from Chicago. The only complication that we had with Kosir’s is that this is not apparently listed clearly and easily in their promotional information, but they do apparently have a nice camping ground as well as a selection of cabins for rent. Make sure to ask about this if it is not mentioned by the staff.
We took the Peshtigo run in single seated kayaks. Jamie accompanied us as our guide, and was incredible in every manner. Great people skills, and presented himself in a manner of allowing good confidence in his skills and abilities in the case of an accident. What many people don’t know is that these guides also work a great deal towards tips, so if you have the same great experience that we had, make sure to help the guide out with a few extra bucks. The individuals financially responsible for our excursion were not aware of this at the time, so sorry Jamie, but we will be back and we will make it up to you!
Pictures of your successes and/or wipeouts are offered after the trip at a very reasonable rate. Make sure to check these out before you leave.
Overall, we left with an A+, 5-star experience. Thank you to everyone that helped make our short weekend trip a memorable one. Best wishes to everyone there!
